Subject: Best methods for Cast Iron Care
From: Cris

Q: What is the best way to take care of my cast iron?

A:

Preparing Cast Iron for Seasoning

Your cast iron cookware comes with a wax coating, which protects the product during transport between the manufacturer and you. This coat helps minimize rusting. Cast iron is very sensitive to changes in temperature, making it an excellent cooking material, but also making it susceptible to rust if not properly cared for.

Place your cast iron upside down on your Camp Chef outdoor cooker, a barbecue, or in your home oven. Light cooker and set to medium heat to melt off wax coating. When burning off the wax on your cookware, the wax will smoke. This step is best done outside to avoid excess smoke in the kitchen. When smoking stops, your cast iron is ready for seasoning. Remove from heat source and let cool. Wash and dry thoroughly with warm water to eliminate any deposits.

Seasoning Technique #1

When your cast iron is prepared for seasoning, follow these easy steps.

Saturate a clean cloth rag with Camp Chef Cast Iron Conditioner. Coat all surfaces of the cast iron. Place on or in heat source upside down and heat at 375 degrees - 425 degrees F. Cookware will smoke as the seasoning bakes. As smoking stops, remove from heat. Your cast iron cookware is now ready for use or let cool, then store for next use.

After each use, apply a small amount of Camp Chef Cast Iron Conditioner, about a dime's diameter worth, and thinly coat all surfaces of the cast iron. Over time, this will make your cast iron black, creating a finish called a "patina." This patina will enhance your cast iron by creating a glasslike finish, which also creates a nonstick surface.

Seasoning Technique #2

This step is much more dangerous than Seasoning Technique #1.

Using a thick leather work glove, saturate a clean cloth rag with Camp Chef Cast Iron Conditioner. Coat all surfaces of the hot cast iron as soon as the wax coating stops smoking. Cookware will smoke as the seasoning bakes. As smoking stops, remove from heat. You can use your oven, or let cool for storage. Note: Your oven is extremely hot and should not be touched as it will easily burn your skin.

Have a Rusty Oven?

Though there are many methods for cleaning rusty ovens, the one that we have found to be the easiest to use is a can of Coca-Cola. If the inside is rusty pour the Coke in and let it do it's job. Depending on how rusty the oven is will depend on how long you will need to leave the Coke on the rusty spot. If you have an issue with the outside of an oven use a sponge to apply the Cola, or place the cast iron in a large bowl or bucket with enough Coke to dissolve the rust (some rotating may be necessary). After rust is removed be sure to wash and reseason you cast iron.

From: lwaterpolo

Q: I would like to know the difference between Will Call and USPS Priority Mail. Thank you for your time.

A: The “Will Call” option is only for people that have placed orders in the immediate Salt Lake City area. During check out they are given the choice to have their product shipped to them or to have the shipping fees dropped and come pick their product at our location.

Q: Can you explain the shipping fee to me? It wasn't very clear on your website. Thank you!

A: The shipping fees are figured on the weight of the product and your location. The cost cannot be figured until your product and zip code are entered. At that time it is based on United States Postal Service calculations. You are always able to see the total cost plus shipping before your order is final.

A: The Triad 3.0 with the light blue on the frame was designed more for the women. However tennis racquets are usually made for either sex.

From:

Q: Are there gifts that are a priority?

A: All of the gift ideas are needed in the village. However, Ronnie has indicated those that he feels are of the most need as they are longer term and self-sustaining. These are:
Educational Gifts
- School Desk - (they often have 5 or 6 kids to a 3 person desk)
- Tuition
- Water pump -
this has proven invaluable for local families. It allows them to avoid walking great distances with a bucket to water their crops.
- Seeds for Planting - This provides ten families with enough seeds for a year.
- Dairy Cow
- Small Chicken farm
Now, a couple of these are the more expensive options, so budget needs to dictate. However, this represents the key gifts in his mind. ** We will remove any gifts from the website that have been selected in sufficient quantities.

Q: Why should I use The Pool Program instead of QuickBooks?

A: Time Savings and Ease of use! The Pool Program is designed for use in the pool and spa industry and will save time over what you would spend billing in Quick Books. The Pool Program is easier to use if you make a mistake - just go back and correct it. Make a mistake in Quick Books - not so easy! You do not have to know anything about computers to run The Pool Program. With Quick Books you must have some computer knowledge. Why would you want to use a program that wasn’t designed with features that are critical to your success in the pool industry? The Pool Program helps save you time and makes you more money!

Q: Looking for Camo kit in poly cotton cloth by the sheets. Do you know where I could find this if you don't have it?

A: Kevin, I have seen those type kits, in fact when I have in Nova Scotia on a bear hunt this year, the outfitter had a cloth camo covering for his ATV. He hated it. It trapped dirt and branches underneath and scratched up his paint. This product is a 3M tape product. It has been compared by people who see it on my truck as wallpapering your vehicle. It protects the under surface and prevents scratches and brush damage.

Q: What does 4 MOA dot mean. Does it mean the dot appears 4" large on the target at 100m? and is this the same when the illumination on the dot is turned off?

A: Whatever the Dot MOA is, that is the size in inches that the dot will cover @ 100yds. If it is a variable power scope the size is usually based on the scope being on its highest power (i.e. 3-9x40 would be on 9 power). As an example our new Multi-Dot 2-7x32 has a 1MOA dot which means it will cover 1" @ 100yds on 7 power or 7x)

Also Do you know of any dealers in my area that would install it on the ATV. I Live in the Jackson - Battle Creek - Michigan area Thanks Rodger Saylor

A: Rodger, I would recommend the DATV- Deluxe ATV Kit. It should be plenty of camo to cover the ATV. As for the removeable or permanent..? Here is my take and I have had my truck wrapped since 2000. I used the removeable, and it has done a great job. Looking back on it now and how well it has stayed on and looks too, I would had done the permenant if I had it to do over again. ONE DRAW BACK TO PERMENANT! Once it sticks... it is STUCK! The removeable is a little more forgiving to apply and make a mistake or two. Thanks, Cris

A: Chad, I would recommend measuring the actual area you plan on covering and getting a rough estimate on the length you will need. Then figure out how high you want it to cover. The estimated distance for the length is what you will need to look closely at. I would think you can most likely get away with the VAK830 kit is it is the right height. Let me know what you come up with and I will be more than glad to help in getting you the correct amount. As for pattern. None of the patterns are predominately gray. I think I would consider the RealTree Hardwoods snow as it is basically white, black and shades of shadows through out. Cris

Our fudge does contain butter, cream, and may contain peanut butter and other nut products. Individual ingredient lists are available upon request.

A: CAMOWRAPS Camouflage is warranted for 5 years against color fading of the material. The application of our products is not warranted because conditions will vary. However, with proper application Camowraps has lasted 8 years and still counting. It will not hurt paint, rather it protects it. When you are ready or need to remove, it is a really simple process of heating it up to about 80 degrees and peeling it back off.

From: Arnold Meast

Q: What Are Ionically Charged Minerals?

A: An ionic mineral is an element that has a charge, either positive or negative. On the molecular level, that means the element has either one too many or too few electrons. This unstable ionic state allows the element to bond readily with water, making it possible for the body to absorb it. In this state, an element has specific positive or negative electrical signatures that cause a dynamic equilibrium to take place. The body can then assimilate minor changes to move nutrients to the areas that need them.

Subject: How do I know how much I need?
From: Cris Draper

Q: How to I figure out how much Camoclad I need to cover my project?

A:

There is a formula for determining how many sheets of Camoclad it would take to cover most projects. Its true, but it takes a little work to figure out, we find that a tape measure and calculator works best!

Try this:
Measure the surface area to be covered in square feet.
To obtain a gross idea of the square footage of an area, multiply the length by the width.
Add 20% to your total square feet.
Divide the total by 20.
The remainder is the number of sheets needed!

Example:
180 Sq. Ft. + 20% = 216 sq. ft.
216 sq. ft. divided by 20 = 10.8 sheets

From: Cris Draper

Q: How big is the pattern printed on the sheets? Is it the same as if it was printed on a shirt or piece of clothing?

A: If you hold a sheet of Camoclad out in front of you with the pattern oriented properly, the sheets will measure approximately 5 feet wide by 4 feets tall. All patterns are manufactured to actual scale so a leaf is as big as a leaf and branch or cattail is true to size as you would find in nature itself!

From:

Q: What Are Trace Minerals?

A: You may collect silver coins, wear a platinum ring, or have a gold filling. You've likely sipped tea poured from a copper kettle, eaten a cookie from a fancy tin container, or traveled on an airplane made of titanium. But did you know that these elements and many others -- in very small, balanced trace amounts -- are critical to your health? Although trace minerals are no longer as common in the foods you eat, they exist plentifully in their proper proportions in the mineral-rich waters of the earth's oceans and seas.

From:

Q: Where Have All the Minerals Gone?

A: Traditionally, eating fresh grains, fruits, and vegetables grown in nutrient-rich soil have been the primary supply for the full spectrum of ionically charged minerals.

Unfortunately in today's world, naturally occurring, nutrient-rich soil is becoming a thing of the past. Eons of vegetation growth and aggressive modern farming techniques have brought many of the earth's minerals to the surface where they have been washed away.

Synthesized fertilizers are routinely applied to farms and fields where minerals have been depleted. But man-made fertilizers provide only enough mineral substance to support basic plant life. Numerous trace minerals so essential to human life are never replenished.

From:

Q: Why Is Absorption so Important?

A: You cannot benefit from minerals unless you can absorb them. The absorption of minerals primarily takes place within the small intestines. As food matter passes through the intestines, minerals transfer into the blood stream through the walls of the intestines. This can only happen if the minerals are ionically charged. Although stomach acid helps ionize the minerals in foods, a mineral supplement should contain already naturally ionized minerals to be fully absorbed.

Subject: Why Ionic Minerals?
From:

Q: Why Ionic Minerals?

A: Minerals that are absorbed in their ionic form are in true liquid solution and have either positive or negative charges. They also have unique properties that distinguish them from each other and allow them to freely take part in biochemical communication throughout the body. These communications help nutrients move to those areas of the body that are in most need of their help. Imbalances of any of these ions or certain trace ions in the body . . . can lead to dysfunction in the conduction of electrical messages. This dysfunction quickly leads to a general body disturbance and loss of ability to maintain somewhat stable internal conditions.

Subject: Differences
From: bransen

Q: What is the difference between the 3M sheets and the permanent ones? Is it adhesive or the material itself? Thanks

A:

Actually, both. The removable product is a 3M ControlTac based product which allows you to easily apply, then if you get a wrinkle or bubble you can pull it up and reapply it back down to get the imperfections out as you are working with the product. The gluing is a forgiving glue system.

Where as the permanent product is a slightly thicvker product and has a gluing system that once the surface of the material comes into contact with the vehicle, it is stuck there for good. No repositioning the product. It was made more for heavy duty uses like boats that are going to be in salt water or for areas that are easily applied to, such as a straight, no curves or bends areas. Feel free to call me with any questions at 801 833-3820.

Q: How do I know my data is secure?

A: With Microsoft Internet Explorer a lock in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen indicates that you have a secure connection. If you don't see this lock , then regardless of any security statement on a given website, your connection is not secure.

If you use Netscape Navigator 4.x or higher, an encrypted session is indicated with a closed lock in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen. If the lock is open the session is unencrypted, in which case you would not want to send confidential information.

www.greinvoice.com uses the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. SSL incorporates data encryption which means that the information you send is scrambled making it unreadable to someone who may be trying to intercept your connection. This is done through complex mathematical algorithms, which turn your information into a data stream that requires a software key to read. www.greinvoice.com uses 128-bit encryption, the highest encryption available to non-government websites, and the same level of security used by banks.

Q: Hi, I have a 2000 Ford F150 and would like to camo the rockers and the plastic parts of the front bumper. I'm confident I can do the rockers with no problem but my concern is the bumper. First, will it stick to the plasic? Second, how well will it follow the contours? My last question is if I can't do it would you know of anyone in the southeastern Wisconsin area that could do it for me? Thanks for your help, Troy

A: Bumpers and plastic are fine as long as your prepare the surface as recommended in the instructions. The contours can be handled several ways from using a wide area flame propane torch or even a household hair dryer to get the material more pliable, just be careful not to use too much heat and stretching. Or you can use small pie shaped relief cuts that slightly over lap to take out excess and mold around bends. Was the video on the web site available in the Menu on Camoclad Installation and it has some great tips! As far as installing it, if you're not comfortable with doing it, almost any local graphics wrap company can apply this 3M based product and are familiar with 3M ControlTac.

Q: Does the camo wrap cover up and hide dings in your vehicle well? My vehicle was in a hail storm. Would it be in my best interest to get the hail damage fixed first? Or would it hid alot of it? Also, the clear coat is peeling off. Does that effect the camo staying put?

A: It will cover minor dings although you will need to be careful to get the material worked down into the surface of the car before it touches the opposite side and then you are trying to push it down into the ding and stretch it. Yes, depending on how bad the clear coat is peeling it could have an effect on performance of the product. You could lightly sand the rough areas to remove any of the clear coat that is not stick down tight before applying the material.

Q: Can you quickly explain what VoIP is?

A: VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. VoIP phone service, sometimes referred to as broadband phone service or digital phone service, is a phone service which operates using your high-speed Internet connection. There are mainly two kinds of VoIP services: phone-based and computer-based. These services allow you to make phone calls using either your regular phone or a computer headset with a microphone, respectively. As opposed to a traditional landline, when you use your phone or computer to call a number the call is sent over the Internet instead of over copper wires running out of your house.

A: Most providers allow you to call any phone number in the world, whether that number be a local, long-distance, mobile phone, or international number. However, some computer-based providers may limit you to other subscribers to that service (Commonly known as “User to User”). For your convenience, we list only those providers who allow their customers to call the regular phone network. A: All our truck kits come in the removable, which I prefer and is a better product in my opinion, but you can purchase the permanent as well in the boat kits. The only time I really try and get someone to purchase the permanent material is if it is going on a boat that is going into Salt water. I have sold hundreds of boat kits in the last 13 years of retailing their products and never had any problems. It is all about surface preparation. From: Paul

Q: Do you have pictures of what the view is from inside the vehicle. Does it darken the interior like window tinting? I want to use this on my motorhome instead of curtains, will it dim it enough? Thanks

A: Paul, Yes, it does darken the inside. It is what is called a 50/50 let through, which means it blocks view, either inside or out, by 50%. It actually is slightly darker than that. The good thing is you can see out better than you can see inside from the outside, helping to keep prying eyes out. Because of the camo printing it blocks view inside almost totally as long as it is fairly dark inside. I think you’d be very happy with the results. I have a sleeper with solid sides on my truck and used the window film on the only window, the back door window, and I love it. No one can see what is inside my sleeper, but if I get inside, which I do often on hunting trips to sleep, I can see right out!
